The Need for a Complete View of Air Quality

According to the EPA, the levels of indoor air pollutants are often 2 to 5 times higher than outdoor levels, and in some cases 100 times higher than outdoor levels of the same pollutants. This is especially problematic since we spend around 90% of our time indoors.

With a precise air quality monitor included in the mobile home security device, Bosch spexor already tracks and analyzes indoor air quality every 30 seconds to test home air quality, in accordance with German Federal Environmental Agency and World Health Organization recommendations. Bosch spexor set a goal to make their air quality data more valuable and actionable by displaying outdoor conditions alongside their own indoor air quality data.

With spexor we want customers to experience more security and less worry in their daily lives. Reliable data is fundamental to this mission,” said Christian Mordhorst, App Development at Bosch spexor.  “Partnering with BreezoMeter we know we are leveraging the most accurate environmental data out there, and have created new features in our app that are highly valued by our customers.

Integrating Air Quality and Pollen Data to Give Users More Actionable Insights

Using BreezoMeter’s hyper-local air quality and pollen data, Bosch spexor can now display a comparison of indoor and outdoor air quality, side by side and provides personalized recommendations and exposure insights. For example, advising whether to open the window and ventilate now to improve indoor air quality, or wait until outdoor air quality improves. Using the BreezoMeter integration, the app offers a variety of health tips, especially for asthmatics, the elderly and children.

70%+ of Users Opt to Continue Using Air Quality & Pollen Features Following Two-Week Trial Period

With the addition of more features and functionality, usage of the Bosch spexor app has increased over the last eighteen months and following the introduction of the trial, more than 72% of users opted to continue using the air quality and pollen features after the two-week trial period; proof that the additional features are valuable to consumers and respond to the need for accurate and up-to-date data on air quality conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
